Hope

I see hope in your eyes, dear friend.

When you look up at the sky

Squinting your eyes against the sun

I see hope in your eyes

When you talk of the future

Words tripping over eachother in your excitement

I see hop in your eyes

I see hope in your eyes, dear sister

When you run towards the future

Burning the demons at your heels

Without a glance backwards

I see hope in your eyes

I see hope in your eyes, my love

Even when the cards stacked against us begin to quake

When the long nights and restless sleep dig into you

When you feel all is hopeless

I see hope in your eyes
