Remember when we were new?

How we fumbled to our feet,

And quickly found our rhythm?

It was simple then.

We bathed in the sun,

And kept our shadows on a leash.

Now we are responsible for more than our own choices.

Our footsteps once so sure falter.

Our shadows have outgrown their leashes.

And the sun has long been set.

In this darkness we are but a spark.

Will you help me ignite?
