Dangling precariously on a thread
Soul overburdened hangs heavy
Every fiber filled with dread
He’s not ready
Hoping he’ll take flight
To once more touch the clouds
No longer cloaked in night
And the shadows dark shroud
His hands stretch for the sky
Pain tearing through his back
Without his wings he can’t fly
Forever lost to the black
If fallen he will remain,
Then all humanity be damned just the same.
