In the waxing of our childhood

The world felt like it was on fire.

Every step was made through glass and bloodshed.

Every breath just plunged us deeper underwater.

Looking back into the mirror of my youth

I see the lines it carved

The valleys it dug

Faint as they are in this golden hour

The marks are clear
