It was a dark night

No storm in site

But she could smell the electricity on the air

Feel a shifting in the sands between her toes

The ocean itself seemed to go still

Then it came

The flash of an ethreal green on the horizon

Blinding her

As her eyes blinked into focus she heard him first

A song on the wind

Winding deep into her heart

Drawing her forward

Into the night colored waters

She didn’t feel the cold

Not as her fingertips blackened

All she knew was his voice

His song

And he was there

Holding her in his arms

Holding her as her head went below the surface

His lips on hers

Tasting of winter

As the last breath left her lungs

She smiled

And Melted into his embrace
