I have never felt a hunger like this before

Molten metal burning through my middle

Eating away at the very thing that makes me human

A swarm of cicadas buzzing in my head

Taking with them the last ounce of my sanity

I am starved

And even if you knew

That a simple glance would satiate me

You wouldn’t look

Wouldn’t see

Your sight stopping just at the tip of your nose

But does mine go any further?
